XL Quad-Zyme
Clean, reimagined.
Engineered for today's most demanding medical, dental, and surgical environments, XL Quad-Zyme is the next-generation multi-enzymatic detergent that does more than clean—it transforms the process.
With a concentrated, low-foam, pH-neutral formula, it breaks down the toughest biofilms—blood, proteins, lipids, starches, and cellulose—at the molecular level. The result: instruments that are not just clean, but truly prepared for disinfection.
Safe to use on everything from basic medical instruments to delicate endoscopes to advanced AER's, XL Quad-Zyme cleans what matters – your instruments and equipment.

Understanding Enzymatic Cleaning
Medical Instrument Cleaning Prior to Disinfection
According to AAMI, ANSI, ASGE, FDA, AORN, SGNA and others, the guidelines for all reusable medical instruments are required to be properly cleaned and disinfected between each and every use. All foreign materials such as blood, protein, tissue residues, mucus, saliva, fats, etc. must be removed from the instruments during the cleaning process. If these debris are not fully removed from the instruments it will allow these "leftovers" to harbor and grow micro-organisms. These leftovers will prevent penetration of disinfectants from reaching all of the surfaces of the instruments thus making the disinfection/sterilization process ineffective.
Physical Agitation, Wiping, and Brushing
Physical agitation, wiping and brushing of the medical instrument surfaces is not enough to remove all of the debris. Yes, it will help to loosen and remove larger pieces which will help in the cleaning process. But this is only a physical action. What is needed is something stronger, a detergent and a surfactant.
Detergents and Surfactants
Detergents and surfactants alone are not enough to remove all of these debris. Yes, they will help in the cleaning process by removing more of these debris. They will reach down to the microscopic level, but it will not be effective enough to breakdown and remove tough bio-burden. Some types of bio-burden are much more resistant to just detergents and surfactants alone. What is needed is something much more powerful—something to breakdown these bio-burdens at a molecular level: enzymes.
The Power of Enzymes
Enzymes are essential in breaking down these tough bio-burdens. This breakdown happens at a molecular level breaking the chemical bonds that hold these bio-burdens themselves together and the bonds that hold them to the surfaces of the medical instruments. But enzymes alone are not enough. What is needed is a combination of all of these products: strong detergents, surfactants, and a powerful set of enzymes.
The XL Quad-Zyme Solution
The proper combination of highly specialized detergents, surfactants and enzymes will produce the most effective cleaning product. This effective cleaning product will breakdown and remove these bio-burdens making the disinfection/sterilization process effective.
XL Quad-Zyme is specifically designed for cleaning various types of reusable medical, dental and surgical instruments, endoscopes and for use in Automated Endoscope Reprocessor's (AER's), washer sterilizer units, ultrasonic cleaners, for manual cleaning and as a pre-soaking solution.
Having a Neutral pH non-corrosive based solution will not damage AER's, valves, rubber components, stainless steel, rigid & flexible endoscopes or any other surgical instrument that can be cleaned in a water-based solution mixture.
